Mirage Machines hosted its very first Open Day on Wednesday 24 September at its head office in Derby to celebrate the launch of 2 new machine ranges – diamond wire saws (MDWS) and split frame pipe cutters (MSF).
Over 40 customers from around the world came to the event, which saw all-day demonstrations of the established flange facing and portable drilling machines, alongside the split frame pipe cutter.
Afternoon demonstrations included Mirage's hot tapping range and the new diamond wire saw, overseen by Tim Sheehan, general manager of Mirage Subsea Inc. based in Houston, USA.
If you would be interested in coming along to Mirage HQ to meet the team and see our machines in action, contact email@example.com.
What our guests said…
"A very informative event facilitated by knowledgeable and experienced staff" - Tony Smith, RSRL
"Interesting machines and unusual opportunity to see them actually cutting metal" - Bill Howcroft, OneSubsea
"Good day, well organised" - Daniel Oldham, Patriot
Customers had the chance to see demonstrations of the portable machines in action, as well as speaking directly to the engineering and sales team questions about individual queries. Machines that were on show during the open day included:
This internally mounted flange facing machine is built with latest linear technology, 3 continuous groove facing feeds, quick set adjustable jaws and a swivel powered tool post.
Featuring a high torque drive with only 60dB noise level, quick set adjustable clamping jaws and swivel toolpost for grooves and bevels, this internally mounting machine faces flanges at a 6-40" range.
Suitable for all types of flange facing, seal groove machining, weld preparation and counter boring, the MM600e features high accuracy bearing and helical gear drive as standard.
With a flange facing machine range of 0-8", the MM200e was a popular machine at the open day due to its compact size; making it ideal for restricted access and lightweight construction areas.
With a diameter of 14-20", the split frame cutter offers fast and accurate cold cutting process with an easy modular construction. The jaw design also ensures increased stability.
Diamond wire saw
Designed for underwater cutting on multi-string casings, piles, platform legs and wellheads, the wire saw is ideal for quickly cutting through dissimilar materials and resisting forces whilst keeping costs low.
A versatile portable drill and boring machine for general drilling and stud removal, the HT50A features linear rails and guides for accuracy and high torque geared spindle.
With a drilling range of 0-2", the HT20 portable drill features 4MT spindle, which accepts standard tooling, for all general drilling and stud removal applications.
Available from 3" to 36", the CHT range works at 5000psi high pressure capability, variable feed rates and a geared counter which reduces height.
The manual hot tapping range which works between 1/2" to 6" stroke is lightweight and versatile and operative at 1480psi.
With a capacity ranging from 3" to 60", the hot tapping range features a helical geared drive close to cut, 4 fixed feed gearbox and available with industry standard connections.
